Injury Management Program
The AMCL Injury Management Program is a series of steps, which assists you to return to work and normal activity as soon as possible.
It ensures no patient "slips through the cracks", and ensures that each and every patient receives the best and most appropriate therapy for their recovery needs.
When you visit your AMCL doctor, they will refer you into the AMCL Injury Management Program. The qualified and experienced therapists in one of our centres, in conjunction with your referring doctor, will then proceed to guide you through a range of AMCL services appropriate to your recovery.
There are 3 phases to the AMCL Injury Management Program:
Phase 1: ACUTE
The four to six weeks directly following the injury. Typical treatments during this phase could include Physiotherapy, Psychology, Occupational Rehabilitation, Hydrotherapy, Hand Therapy and Orthotics/Lower Limb Biomechanics.
Phase 2: SUB ACUTE
Generally this is the period six to 12 weeks after the injury. Typical treatments during this phase could include Massage Therapy and Work Conditioning.
Phase 3: CHRONIC
If pain has continued beyond 12 weeks post injury, patients can be referred into our pain management program. All patients are assessed and treated by a multidisciplinary team with special expertise in the treatment of chronic pain.
